Why I am I charged Tax on my utility bill
Florida Statutes 166.231 authorizes municipalities to levy a public service tax not to exceed 10 percent on the purchase of water service. The Town Ordinance 28-59, authorizes the town to levy 10% on the utility bill. This shows up as Sales Tax on your utility bill due to software limitations.
