YARD DEBRIS (Vegetation)
As part of your monthly utility bill, residential properties are charged $13.00 per month for yard debris pickup. This charge allows for up to one six-cubic yard pickup per week. Anything in excess on any given week will be billed at $5 per six cubic yards. See below for the Town Ordinance and Resolutions adopted by the Town Council to authorize this extra charge. This service is for yard debris vegetation only and must not be mixed with other items.
The truck runs on Tuesdays and Thursday's
The Tuesday route is all of Main Street/Crump Rd and everything South.
Thursday route is everything North of Main Street.
Hazardous Waste
The town does not have an ordinance for picking up Hazardous Waste and it's illegal to dump/abandon Hazardous waste on the ground. The residence can deliver hazardous waste to the Polk County Landfill at 10 Environmental Loop S, Winter Haven, FL 33880.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility
General Information
Household Hazardous Wastes (HHW) are products that contain ingredients that are flammable, corrosive, combustible, toxic and/or reactive. HHWs include, but are not limited to:
Used motor oil
Automobile batteries
Household rechargeable batteries
Gasoline
Paint, thinners and solvents
Pesticides
Fluorescent bulbs and compact fluorescent bulbs
Pool chemicals
Cleaning supplies
Managing Household Hazardous Waste: What's Accepted?
Household chemical and electronic waste from Polk County residents is accepted at no additional fee at the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility located at the North Central Landfill.
